Andrew Dobberfuhl is an associate clinical mental health counselor dedicated to helping adolescents and adults navigate the correlation between thought patterns and behavior. He fosters a safe counseling space centered on personal growth, healing, and self-discovery. His approach focuses on a deep understanding of the connection between the emotional and intellectual selves. He integrates emotionally focused and cognitive behavioral techniques to help people recognize and move beyond outdated defenses that may be holding them back.
Originally from Washington state, Andrew’s passion for psychology was sparked at an early age through conversations with his father, a marriage and family therapist. Andrew gained invaluable experience working in an inpatient rehabilitation facility and later as a program manager for adults with disabilities.
During his master’s program, he completed multiple internships, where he discovered his strengths in helping patients facing co-dependency, divorce, and reactive defense mechanisms. These experiences led him to Bristol Health, where he provides compassionate and insightful care to those he serves.
Outside of his work, Andrew is a devoted father of two, an avid woodworker, and a board game enthusiast. If you ever want to strike up a conversation, just ask him about his favorite type of wood!
