Camila Wilson is an Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor who believes all people are worthy of love and dignity, regardless of life’s circumstances. She brings this belief into her work by collaborating closely with clients to help them access their own strengths, build resilience, and move toward meaningful goals. Camila values creating a strong and honest therapeutic relationship where clients feel supported, understood, and empowered throughout the healing process.
She uses a Common Factors approach to therapy to help assess and increase motivation, facilitate insight, and encourage corrective emotional experiences. Camila enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults and has experience supporting individuals in the field of addiction recovery. She is especially interested in working with personality disorders, including Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), as well as individuals navigating chronic pain, peripartum challenges, and motherhood-related concerns.
Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, Camila has also lived in Argentina and is fluent in both Portuguese and Spanish. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Linguistics from Brigham Young University and previously worked as a middle school teacher helping immigrant teens learn English. Her passion for multicultural issues and empowering minority populations informs her compassionate and culturally responsive approach to therapy. Camila’s diverse personal and professional experiences help her remain open and curious to the many cultural, racial, religious, and gender-related experiences her clients may face.
Personal experiences with mental health struggles within her own family inspired her deep interest in the mental health field and continue to shape her empathy and dedication to helping others.
Outside of work, Camila enjoys thrifting, gardening, home décor, visiting museums, going on walks with friends, and cooking, especially when the kitchen is clean. She lives with her husband, four children, one dog, four cats, and ten chickens.
